TodayI…Visited the South Bay Botanical Garden

For my cousin’s birthday, I took her on a date to this place. The weather was perfect… not too hot, occasional breezes… and it was kind of romantic without the boys. :)

Really neat! The tour guide of our generation.

Banyan Grove…some of the branches actually grow downward to help support the rest of the tree.

After about a mile of walking around the 87 acre garden, we had a picnic under the trees and my husband was able to join us during his lunch break!

I made some sandwiches, brought along some chips (Hot Cheetos, of course), and packed up some Raspberry pie for dessert.

Also, some Pellegrino, Ginger ale, and Blueberry Lemonade.

The sandwiches were delish! I enjoy making sandwiches.

Happy Birthday again cousin! After the garden, we had a little birthday dinner planned for her at my apt. But…more on that to come! ;)

One day I hope to have a family photo hanging up in my house. My husband and I are still going back and forth on how many kids we want. I was stuck on 5 for awhile…but I think I might change my mind after I have 1 or 2. Haha. I love big families though! I have 2 siblings, which isn’t necessarily big just above average, and there’s never been a dull moment. My sister and brother have probably been my closest friends growing up, and I don’t think life would have been the same if there was only 1 of us or 2 of us. Three is definitely a good number! There’s always someone to play with, someone to start a fight with, and, of course, someone to have deep conversations about life itself. Good times.

Having children, to me, just proves God’s amazing power and the beauty of the miracle of LIFE! When we do have children, these are some photographers that I would really want to take our picture:

We shall see how everything pans out. Do you guys have kids? If not, how many do you want?

Have Your Dream Wedding Without Going Broke!

TodayI…Reflected on weddings. It is such a huge industry in today’s culture and companies know they can charge higher prices because brides will pay for anything most of the time! Sadly, we tend to not think as practically when it comes to our “big day” so they take advantage of us! That is NOT okay! We need to fight back somehow…haha. Well, in an effort to reflect on my own wedding and how I managed to plan (what I like to think of as an amazing wedding) without going broke (after gifts, we broke even in the wedding budget)…here are some wedding secrets I came up with:

This post is for my friend who requested me to post this. She just got engaged. Congratulations again! Hope this helps!

How to Make a Tissue Paper Pom-Pom

TodayI…Made Tissue Paper Pom Pom’s. This is a very simple and inexpensive DIY project that looks great at any occasion (birthdays, bridal showers, engagement parties, weddings, etc.)

Tissue Pom Poms from MarthStewart.com

And now the DIY part:

Step 1: Stack six-eight 10-by-20-inch sheets of tissue paper.

Step 2: Make 1 1/2-inch-wide accordion folds on entire length of tissue, creasing after every fold.

Step 3: Bend 2 pipe cleaners together. (You will need an 18in wire.)

Step 4: Measure 18 inches and cut pipe cleaner.

Step 5: Fold 18in pipe cleaner in half, and slip over center of folded tissue. Twist & secure. With scissors, trim edges of tissue into either pointed or rounded shapes.

Step 6: Separate layers one by one, pulling from center one at a time. Be careful not to tear the tissue.
