REFLECTION WEDNESDAY

I’ve been in a real somber mood lately.  I don’t know what it is…I’ve been extremely tired and have no energy to do anything. This is how I feel…

The colors and the picture say it all.  I like it because even though it’s very calm and simple, maybe even dull, it’s somewhat hopeful with tiny bursts of bright yellow. Yesterday, I was supposed to go to dance practice and couldn’t even get up off the couch. Eddie has been so good to me. He gave me veggie juice and fruits to try to liven me up a bit. It worked a little! I finally got up off the couch and we went to watch 30 minutes or Less and made it a Date Night. We used to do Date Nights every Tuesday. I really don’t remember when we stopped doing that…probably about a year ago. So sad.

Well guys, I kind of rambled today. I haven’t much inspiration for blogging as of late. I’m hoping this 3-day weekend I can rest up and rejuvenate.

Happy Wednesday!!!

I don’t know what it is about his prints, but there’s something that speaks to me in every one of them! They are interesting and deep and I cannot help but post a few samples of his work. Apparently, he’s pretty big and has been published in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Time, Penguin books, Random House, etc and in various other magazines around the world. Check out his website, it’s pretty well-designed in my opinion.

PLACES: Ramen Eateries!

We’ve sort of been on a Ramen binge lately. We’ve tried about 5 new Ramen places within the month. Did I mention we LOVE to eat? Anyhow, one of my favorite places was this small, kind of whole-in-the-wall place called Ramen Yamadaya in Torrance. It has 4 stars on Yelp.

Ramen is a Japanese noodle dish that is served in a meat or fish-based broth. You can get extra toppings in it like pieces of (chashu) pork, an egg, seaweed, etc. I’ve learned that my favorite style of Ramen is Tonkotsu, which is made from a pork broth. AND, I like it SPICY, to the point where my mouth is burning and I have to have an ice-cold glass of water next to me to cool my mouth down. I’m so Vietnamese when it comes to spicy food. I love it!

Their menu is also really inexpensive! I think our Ramen costed about $6 each, if I remember correctly.

The above picture is Ramen from another place in Chino Hills, CA called Rokuan. My soup was thoroughly enjoyable and tasty as well there! Rokuan also has 4 stars on Yelp and has an amazing sushi/roll selection.

Mmm..all this is making me hungry! Have a great weekend! Happy eating!

5 New Things I Learned About My Husband

Week #7:

1. He can be very thoughtful.

2. He’s really passionate about juicing, which I’m really starting to appreciate.

3. Sometimes his approval means more to me than anything else in the world.

4. I think he secretly bought the iPad for himself. (Just kidding)

5. He’s really good at massaging your head…this may sound weird, but some days I just want him to play with my hair. I could just fall asleep right there!

P.S. The more I learn about my husband, the better I get to learn about myself. I’m just now noticing that.

TodayI…got a new toy!

Okay, so I’m a PC girl.  I don’t own anything Apple related except for the iPod touch I bought my husband last year. Although, I cannot help but admire the new iPad‘s. A couple months ago, I saw someone reading a book on their kindle and it looked so neat! I told my husband, “I want an iPad” not thinking he was going to actually buy me one! He totally surprised me when he got home from his weekend Vegas trip. It was a pleasant surprise! Thanks babe!

Some of the apps I’ve already downloaded and love so far:

What apps do you like? I’d love to hear your recommendations! Happy Wednesday!
