We’ve sort of been on a Ramen binge lately. We’ve tried about 5 new Ramen places within the month. Did I mention we LOVE to eat? Anyhow, one of my favorite places was this small, kind of whole-in-the-wall place called Ramen Yamadaya in Torrance. It has 4 stars on Yelp.
Ramen is a Japanese noodle dish that is served in a meat or fish-based broth. You can get extra toppings in it like pieces of (chashu) pork, an egg, seaweed, etc. I’ve learned that my favorite style of Ramen is Tonkotsu, which is made from a pork broth. AND, I like it SPICY, to the point where my mouth is burning and I have to have an ice-cold glass of water next to me to cool my mouth down. I’m so Vietnamese when it comes to spicy food. I love it!
Their menu is also really inexpensive! I think our Ramen costed about $6 each, if I remember correctly.
The above picture is Ramen from another place in Chino Hills, CA called Rokuan. My soup was thoroughly enjoyable and tasty as well there! Rokuan also has 4 stars on Yelp and has an amazing sushi/roll selection.
Mmm..all this is making me hungry! Have a great weekend! Happy eating!
