DIY Friday: Vintage Alphabet Cards

Okay, so I’m a sucker for free printables online! Are you?

Today’s DIY is a SIMPLE project that I just completed… literally 10 minutes ago.

Here’s what you need:

  • Go to the handmade home blog and check out their freebies page. Click here for link.
  • Scissors or paper cutter if you have it
  • 26 clothespins
  • string
  • nail/hammer to hang

So I cannot tell you how much I love the style of these Alphabet cards. I’ve been looking for the perfect one, and I believe these are it!

What to do:

  • Print
  • Snip
  • Hang!

See..I told you it was simple. See how mine turned out:

P.S. Thank you to my mom for cutting them for me!

Scenes from the nursery…

I’m so happy to share with you these pictures! I’ve been working hard on getting this nursery ready. I’ve rearranged furniture probably 5 different times and have cleaned, thrown out, gathered different items from various thrift stores and I’m finally happy with it. Hope you enjoy!

Easter Egg Craze!!!

So, I don’t know about you, but I am really excited about Easter! It’s such a beautiful celebration, not because of all the food, the pretty eggs, and being off work..but the message behind the event. Duh! Jesus’s Resurrection! Haha. Of course, if you ask junior high students what Easter is all about, they’ll tell you candy, Easter bunny, etc. It’s fun to play with their minds and change their way of thinking. :) I will miss that the most about teaching junior high.

Anyway, here are some fun Easter crafts and inspiration I found around the web:

Well, anyone have any fun Easter traditions that you do with your family? I’m looking forward to starting some fun traditions with my little girl. Woohoo! Can’t wait!

Quote of the Day

Things I accomplished this weekend:

- Got our apartment blessed! Woohoo! Finally.

- Decorated nursery with some wall art

- Received some spiritual inspiration from Religious Ed Congress

- Cooked some Filipino soup

- Went to mass!

- Cleaned the apartment

- Lesson Plans

As you can see…I’ve been feeling more productive lately. I think my “nesting” phase is at its’ peak right now! I feel like rearranging my whole apartment and decorating like crazy! It’s kind of fun. Also, I think it might be because I’m getting excited to be off work in a week and a half! Yippee!!! Then, the REAL work begins. Honestly, Eddie and I are getting a little anxious as this baby gets ready to come out. They say it could be any day now…but for some reason I think I have about 2-3 more weeks. I’ll be sure to keep you all updated when she’s born. It’s pouring outside right now by the way. Have you ever just sat down and listened to the rain? It’s a beautiful thing! It’s crazy how nature works.

Hope you all had a great weekend! Stay tuned for more scenes from our “almost” finished nursery. :)

Vintage Inspired Baby Shower

This past weekend, my family threw me an amazing baby shower at my parents’ house. It was so fun and was a great success despite the pouring rain. All of our guests were crowded inside, umbrellas were stacked in this huge trash can right next to the door, and loads of coats were hanging on the racks! (Good thing we had those coat racks!) Anyway, despite all the chaos in the beginning…it was worthwhile. Also, it was literally the second time my family and my husband’s family saw each other..the last time was our wedding  a year and a half ago! Haha. Here’s some of the snap shots I took via Instragram! (Freakin’ love that app.)

My creative sister set up a little candy bar so guests can take home a little somethin.’

There are the coat racks before the guests arrived! I love pinwheels!

Our little game table. My family LOVES games!

An “About to Pop” sign that our friend Ashley made. Thanks Ashley for all of your help! You are so awesome!

Guest book for friends/family to leave parenting advice or tips for us. Super cute idea!

Since we couldn’t set up outside, Martin and Eddie set up in the garage. I thought it turned out pretty nicely! Good job guys!

We had a Taco and Nacho Bar! It was incredibly delicious. My dad was the genius behind it all and it was a BIG hit!

My mom picked up this fruit tart cake from this bakery in Pomona. THE. BEST. CAKE. EVER! And, I’m not a cake eater..so that says a lot.

Also, did you catch the big reveal?!?

We have a name picked out for our little girl! A really, super Catholic one. :)

Happy Wednesday to you.

Ahh! Finally Spring… You have arrived!

I’m so glad Spring has arrived. It strangely changed my mood almost instantly when I realized today was the first day of Spring. Although it was nice to snuggle during the winter, I’m ready for some sunshine..and pretty flowers! What does Spring remind you of?

Here are some things I found around the blog world that instantly turned my frown upside down:
