Today I…thought I’d share my progress as of 1 month. I can’t believe how fast time flies! I’m still learning things each and every day. Please forgive me if my posts aren’t making too much sense, I’ve been in a daze lately..feeling like a zombie sometimes! Lol. I don’t even know what day of the week it is half the time.
1. Spending Memorial Day Weekend with these individuals… (more about our adventures at a later time)
The first picture is a photo of my second family. When I finished college I went on a 6 month mission trip across the United States, Hawaii, and Canada with 10 other individuals. We got to know each other pretty well as we were often stuck in a car for miles on end together. We knew how to annoy the heck out of each other, but we also knew how to inspire and help each other grow spiritually. It was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had (it falls a close second to child birth, ha!). Anyway, this past weekend we had a 5 yr reunion. It was a good time.
2. I can’t get enough of this song:
3. Simplicity
Zzz…
Things that distracted me this week:
1. Gossip Girl…(I’m kind of ashamed to even mention this, but I’m addicted)
Dear Ms. Serena van der Woodsen and Ms. Blair Waldorf,
How do you manage to be so annoying, but I can’t seem to get enough of you girls?!? Ugh, I hope my daughter never turns out like the both of you. But, I do thank you for the entertainment.
XoXo,
Melinda
2. Back to juicing again…
This picture of fruits and veggies should make it to the other list, but why is it that it’s so much more work to eat and be healthy?!? Granted, I’m thankful we have the means to buy fresh fruits and veggies every week (and also thankful that we have an amazing farmer’s market nearby that’s open twice a week), but I have to admit..it’s hard to be disciplined. We were very strict about our diets at the beginning of my pregnancy. However, slowly, our diets began to be sacrificed due to time and convenience. That is no excuse! Now that we are trying to get back into it…it’s tough. But, I’m ready for the challenge!
So, yesterday I found these awesome coral shorts at the thrift store for $2 and I got so excited. Will show you after the wash, lol. The color spoke to me.
Today I.. wanted to show you a new side-project I started. Okay, to be honest, I’ve never been the type to scrapbook or anything like that. I know there are some blogs I’ve followed in the past who are BIG on scrap booking, and what always amazed me is the creativity some people have with creating pages and such. If you are one of those people, kudos to you! I admire you. Now, I don’t know how dedicated I will be, but I was at Michael’s the other day and purchased a SMASHbook..ever heard of it?
It’s this cool new scrapbooking-esque thing where you can pin, tape, glue, collect any random thing that you feel is worth saving…could be quotes, pictures, cards, memorabilia, etc..and you basically “SMASH” it into a cute little book. Well, I couldn’t resist myself when I saw it at Michael’s so I purchased the mustard yellow one. Eek!! Anyway, here’s to my first entry: (Thanks sis for helping me with this one!)
Okay, is it just me or does time seem to pass you by so quickly that the minutes, seconds, hours in a day start blurring together… and pretty soon weeks and months have gone by and the next time you stop to look at your calendar the year is almost halfway over?!? I don’t know if you’re like me, but I have a list of things to do that I have yet to get to. I hate that about myself. I’m very ambitious, want to get all these things done, but never seem to sit down and do them. Ugh. Maybe if I write them down, it’ll encourage me to do them. Here are a few of the things on my To Do List that I hope to accomplish (hopefully before the end of the year, lol):
1. I’ve been meaning to revamp and replant my succulents for some time now. Hope to use this tutorial below as inspiration:
