Today I…am a little late on posting this, but gah..we are almost to 12 months so I can’t stop now. I’m loving everything about her! Her..
Can’t wait until her 1st Birthday!!!
What she can do at 10 months:
-say “mama,” “dada,” “bye bye,” “bah bah”
-stand without holding anything for 5 seconds
-can almost walk
-drink from a sippy cup on her own
-pick up foods with two fingers
-doesn’t sleep through the night (wah!)
-play independently for over 30 minutes (woohoo!)
-laugh, smile, wine, cry
Today I.. Wanted to share our first trip to Disneyland! (With a baby that is…) So, I wish someone told me that going to an amusement park with a baby (under 1) is so much more work than it is fun! Lol. But you can’t beat getting in for free! I will never turn down a free Disney trip! (Thank you Anavie and Rhia for inviting us!)
(Ave was not having it when we took that picture above.)
We went with 3 other moms and 4 other kids! We basically had to stop every 15 minutes and never even made it past Main Street! At least the fried chicken was worth it!
The kids enjoyed the tiki room, Ariel’s grotto, and the carousel. The moms enjoyed eating lunch and dessert at the new Ghiradelli spot in California Adventure.
It was a good mommy and baby bonding experience though.
My baby is 9 months already! Phew..where has the time gone!?!
What she can do at 9 months:
-say “ma-ma” (only when I leave the room)
-has 2 bottom teeth finally!
-waves “hi” and “bye”
-almost sleeps through the night (thanks to the CIO method!)
-eats pretty much anything that can be broken into little pieces
-hair is long enough to put in a ponytail
-can stand on her own
I’m usually not crazy about New Year’s Resolutions..plus I’m already a week late in posting about this. I just realized after a very quick, blurry two weeks that the holidays are over and we’re into the new year. I’m not going to be ambitious this year and have a list of resolutions that I MOST likely will not keep up for the whole year. I feel as though I might just be setting myself up for failure. I’ll just keep it simple for now. Though I do have things in mind that I’d like to work on THIS year.
I hope to continue to eat healthy or I should say…healthier. My husband, who is totally against resolutions, actually started a 21 day sugar detox on January 1st. It’s been CHALLENGING to say the least. He can totally feel the difference in his body and it’s only been 1 week. For me, I’m craving more sweets than ever before..probably because I KNOW he can’t have any. Lol. So, I guess we’re both struggling. I have to say that I have enjoyed coming up with recipes that have absolutely 0 grams of sugar. It’s tougher than it seems! Even almond meal has 1 gram of sugar..and it is made completely of ALMONDS. Haha.
I realized that since I’ve been staying home, my brain is not as quick as it was before. I’m forgetting how to talk and I’m forgetting how to spell words, use grammar, etc. I HATE that! I decided I need to listen to the news more and read, read, read. Anyone have any good book suggestions? Anyway, I hope it helps. For many years I worked so hard to eliminate “like” and “um” in my every day language. I definitely don’t want that habit to return.
I also pray that God grants me more patience. I could’ve sworn I had more patience before, but now I find myself quick to lose it. I don’t go crazy or lose my temper or anything, but I just find myself getting irritated more easily. I could blame it on my husband (He’s very irritable and I tell him that all the time) or I can just pray that God grants me more patience. This is something I want to work on this year, especially now that I have a kid!
Well, that’s all for now. I hope to sign offline and go for a jog right now, but not sure that will happen. Ha!
Until next time,
Hey guys! It’s been quite the adventure running after this little one. She’s crawling everywhere and using everything in sight to help herself stand up! I knew this time was coming..and now it’s here! I’m excited, but I’m also a little nervous! What if I take my eye off of her and she hurts herself in that one second that I’m not looking? What if she grabs something on top of a table that I forgot was there? Ugh! Time to baby proof my parents house. Right now we are using pillows to block her from getting into things, but she’s already outsmarted us and now we need to go buy those gates. Any recommendations on good gates?? We’re definitely going to get the stair one because my parents have a steep set of stairs in the house. I would love to get THIS one, but I don’t know if it’s any good. I have some money left on a gift card at Babies R Us so I might just look into buying one from there. We’ve reached EXCITING TIMES you guys!
My family got together a little late this year (the Saturday after Christmas) so the excitement kind of died down early and then picked back up again for a day.
Ugh! Sorry my camera sucks.
