A beautiful country wedding

I just love love weddings!

Today I.. Wanted to share some photos of a fun, country wedding we went to this past weekend. This was our first time attending a wedding at a legitimate ranch.. such a great outdoor venue!
First, the view from the site! (Basically overlooking the chino valley)

Sparkle Fete Bridal Shower!

Today I.. Attended a bridal shower for my BFF and the theme was “Sparkle Fete!” I was a little hesitant about the theme at first.. But it was so fun!

So this party was so fabulous! First of all, my BFF has a beautiful house in Irvine that looks like something out of Pinterest.. Especially her kitchen! (Swoon!) Anyway.. I think even though the theme was awesome.. It was all about the food!! All individually prepared and home cooked by her friend Jina. She did our wedding shower awhile back. She needs to start a business!
What I realized at that party was that party planning has evolved soo much bc of Pinterest and the Internet and the DIY/Michaels industry. We spend a lot of time ( probably more time than we need to) planning and making things for events and parties (I am guilty of this!)… that we sometimes lose ourselves in all the details. Remember back in the day when it was all about the food.. And MAYBE if you were feeling extra inspired you would go to your local party city and buy the matching utensils, plastics are, some random wall decor or centerpiece and call it a day! Good bye to those days!! But.. I can’t help myself. I love decorations!! They are just so fun and add so much to the party. The important thing is balance though. Hopefully I can keep myself grounded when it comes to planning my daughter’s 1st birthday. Hehe. But if not, don’t judge me! Lol.

Seriously, can’t wait until Italy for this girl’s wedding!!

Look what I found…

I guess a cool thing about moving is rediscovering old things..like my wedding invitations! Haha. I never did get pictures of them so I just snapped some with my phone real quick. Sorry for the quality, but yay..I’m glad I had extra lying around somewhere.

They were very simple. I bought the outer envelopes from here  I think and the printing paper from here in the 50% off bin. My dad ended up printing it all from his handy laserjet. Thank you Costco printers! Oh, and all the branches I used for all my wedding decor including the invitations were from Ikea. Here’s a fun fact: the two toned colors on the invitation were inspired by this show’s credits. Hehe.

A DIY Wedding

A couple weekends ago, my husband and I had the pleasure of attending a beautiful, outdoor DIY wedding in Anaheim Hills, CA at the Oak Canyon Nature Center. This venue was gorgeous and, despite the heat, it was perfect weather underneath all the trees.

The entrance:

The venue told a lot about the couple and their outdoorsy style. You had to do a mini hike to get to the actual venue. Good thing I wore flats!

The Ceremony:

The ceremony set up was absolutely breathtaking! The altar was decorated with vintage suitcases, an old dresser that held a Bible, bread, and wine. There was also a washing of the feet section which the bride and groom participated in during the ceremony. the entire seating area was covered with muslin covers and above was adorned with this pretty white fabric. The picture really doesn’t do it justice, but it was truly one of a kind! Also, the groom is a pastor thus the ceremony was very unique and holy. Their bridesmaids and groomsmen even did a prayer circle around them.

After the ceremony, there was a brief intermission where guests could play games, drink cocktails, and eat some appetizers. The set up was so incredible, I have to share!

The reception:

They had a personalized Jenga game (the wood blocks were carved with “D+L”) and they had their own corn hole game. If you haven’t already noticed, this couple is definitely one you want to invite at your next game night!

To make your own personal corn hole game set, check out the DIY (with pictures) here!

The Table Details:

The place cards were hand painted succulent plants! Of course, my husband didn’t care about his so I stole his.

Their sweetheart table.

Table to Honor their Loved ones:

Gift Table:The food:

Okay, this might have been the best idea ever. Taco man for a wedding! It was so yummy and you bet  we went back for seconds! Nom.

Dessert:

Instead of a cake, they had an ice cream truck! I think I might have gone to heaven.

Just wanted to, once again, congratulate the happy newlyweds, Pastor Dave & Louise, as I wish them a happy & joyous marriage!

Island Inspired Wedding

Today I…was excited to share this beautiful wedding I attended back in August. Man, oh man, we felt so honored to be invited to it. It took place at Casa Romantica in San Clemente, CA. What a beautiful venue it was! Not to mention it was literally overlooking the ocean, which was so breathtaking!

Left: The entry way Right: The view

The craft table where guests could write messages on rocks or just make silly faces with the googly eyes. Fun!

Gift Table

Thanks to the ever-so-thoughtful bride and groom, guests were able to take these cute heart-shaped fans and use it during the outdoor ceremony. They sure came in handy! It was kinda hot. :)

The aisle decor that adorned each chair that bordered the aisle way. Also, the runner was a long piece of burlap, which was a nice touch I thought!

The bride and groom table. Soooo..amazing!

Bride and groom signs. Love the dark teal accent!

Now, the burlap tablescapes and table details were simply elegant & gorgeous. I know I’m sounding pretty girly right now, but my jaw literally dropped. I could have sworn I walked right

into one of the images from Pinterest.

The place cards and menu. (The graphics were done by my friend Christina over at letrango. Definitely visit her site, she’s pretty talented!)

Me and the hubs enjoying our time. I hate his lame-o smile that he uses for ALL pictures.

My Reflection on Marriage

Today I… decided to look back on my wedding and just remember the good ol’ times. Sorry for the lack of post yesterday. Honestly, I published a post and it literally disappeared! I’ve heard of that happening to people before, but I never knew what they meant. How can something get lost in the blog world? Well, ladies and gents, it is possible. So… I still cannot find it and it was labeled “Reflection Wednesday” so if you see it pop up some time…you know where it was supposed to go.

Anyway, its not much of a blog post today, but I did update and add a *NEW PAGE* to my blog entitled “My Wedding.” You can view it here. I figured I’d include details of my wedding after having a conversation with a friend who is currently planning hers. Weddings are so exciting!

Enjoy! & Happy Thursday!

Check out pictures here. I couldn’t be more blessed with such an amazing friend.

Here are some of my faves:
