5 New Things I Learned About My Husband

Week #32:

1. You know the soup Nazi character from Friends? Eddie is kind of like that with me eating sweets and junk food. In the long run, it’s good for me I guess. I know I will appreciate it when I’m trying to lose all the baby weight..but DANG, sometimes I just want to fight him!

2. We are really into this Korean drama on Netflix right now called “Pasta.” If you’re into those kind of shows, definitely entertaining! We currently have the soundtrack stuck in our heads and we keep yelling at each other all the Korean phrases we know! Haha. It’s fun.

3. He loves the game Scramble with Friends! I don’t know if you guys have iPhones or play games via apps, but it’s quite a hobby of ours. It’s funny when he comes home from work and checks to see if anyone played him. If there are no updates, he’s all sad and says with a pout on his face, “Aw, no one played me today.” It’s kind of adorable.

4. I love when he kisses me on the forehead. I don’t know..I find it endearing in a way.

5. Okay, I’m not the funniest or wittiest person at all. In fact, when I do say something funny, people complement me! Haha. They say, “That was actually a good one, Melinda!” It brings up my spirits, it does! But, when Eddie complements me..It MEANS THE WORLD TO ME! I think he has a great sense of humor! His entire family is like that. So jealous!

5 New Things I Learned About My Husband

Week #31:

1. He’s very independent. When making decisions, I tend to call people (like my parents, friends, etc) to find out other people’s opinions first before I make a big decision. Eddie, on the other hand, likes to just make the decision himself..which I totally respect. I don’t know..I think I’m indecisive and I want to research everything before I make a decision. I do want to become more independent though, like him.

2. He LOVES sleeping with a humidifier. He honestly snores the night away! It doesn’t really bother me, as long as he’s sleeping well.

3. Everyone’s been saying that I “look” like I’m having a boy. I don’t know…it’s starting to make me think, what if it does happen?!? Eddie is secretly excited I can sense. Haha. Either way, we’d both be happy, but wouldn’t that be crazy?!? I know Kaiser has gotten it wrong before. Hmm..this will be interesting…

4. He LOVES his mustache! I can’t get him to shave that thing! Ugh. (But, I hate to admit, it is starting to grow on me.)

5. If we  do have a girl, she’s going to be such a Daddy’s girl! Eddie hates when I tease him about that, but I can already see it. Ha!

I just realized that I haven’t done one of these posts in awhile. I learn new things about Eddie everyday. Some I notice and I think to myself “I need to write that one down.” Other days, I don’t really notice. Either way, he hardly ever reads my blog so I feel like I can say whatever I want about him. Haha. Anyway, I just want to thank him for being understanding and letting me share these things with you guys. I’m sure some of you feel like you know my husband better than you would like to.

Anyway, Eddie, thanks for being a trooper!

5 New Things I Learned About My Husband

Week #30:

1. Okay, so, I have something to admit. A month ago..I ACCIDENTALLY washed our iPad in the laundry! Yes, my friends, a full 40-minute cycle and I had no idea about it until I switched the load to the dryer! I’d like to blame it on the pregnancy, but I tend to do careless things like this quite often..even before I was pregnant..so..there you go! I couldn’t believe the clumsy mistake I made..I mean, really…who does that?!? I tried to save it…left it in a week to dry in a tub of rice…had one of my tech savvy friends open it up and try to repair it…even went into the Apple store to see if they could do anything about it. Nothing. So, I just wanted to share how understanding Eddie has actually been through it all. I mean, grant it, he’s MAD. Of course, who wouldn’t be! I honestly wanted to cry when it happened. But, in all fairness, he handled it very calmly, didn’t yell at me like I thought he would..he just said, “you better fix it.” And I will. Well.. I’m working on it.

2. Eddie has to pull me up to get out of bed now.

3. He gives the best massages! Actually, in Lamaze class we’re learning how he can massage me to keep me relaxed. And, honestly, he’s an EXPERT! He helped cut my normal breathing patterns in half!

4. Have I told you how much I hate Mustache march? He’s growing a mean ol’ stache on his face! One of his coworkers actually said, “Wow. You look like one of those explorers back in the day…particularly one from Spain.” I am STILL laughing at that one.

5. He relates more and more to the movie “I Love You Man.”

Week #29:

1. Eddie is not really enjoying Lamaze class. I don’t know why, I think it’s because it’s 2.5 hrs long for 5 weeks. :(

2. On Tuesday morning this week, we actually were about to get up at 5am and go workout on the beach. I walked up some stairs a few times and he had this whole workout planned. It was nice to share that time together, I have to admit..despite it being so early. But, boy, does my body ache now!

3. Last night I broke down in tears. I was crying about all sorts of things..it just all came out. I realized I haven’t cried in awhile. Poor Eddie…he had no idea where it came from probably. Oh..the joys of having a hormonal, pregnant wife!

4. I love wearing my husband’s shirts. 1) Because they are large and fit me nice and loose right now. 2) Boys shirts are SO soft. I love how the fabric feels on my skin. 3) I love to annoy my husband.

5. Have I mentioned how much I hate taking out the trash? Yah..I think Eddie will be in charge of that from now until forever.

5 New Things I Learned About My Husband

Week #28:

1. When I watch my husband sometimes, I see so much of a “military” persona in him. I remember when I went to go visit him a couple times when he was in the army. There were these things that were always so new and different compared to when I knew him in high school. For example, his posture, the way he wore his clothes, or even the way his hair looked. Even today, I see glimpses of it..its kind of interesting.

2. Just when I thought I was starting to feel comfortable and get this “married life” thing down, I had to go on and get pregnant! Now, I feel like I’m starting from scratch again, haha.

3. One of my least favorite couple things to do are TAXES. Every year, ugh!

4. He made a pact with a friend to grow out his mustache and beard…so ridiculous right?!? Let me tell you…it’s not pretty. I call him “Dirty Sanchez.”

5. When you’re pregnant, it’s hard to feel pretty. Sometimes I wonder if my husband is even still attracted to me. I mean, I guess some men are attracted to women with bigger bellies, but honestly, I wonder if he’ll ever look at my body the same way again. Probably not. Oh well, he’s stuck with me no matter what! Haha, better get over it!

5 New Things I Learned About My Husband

Week #27:

1.  I think Eddie would prefer it if I didn’t go watch his softball games. It’s not that I’m a loud, obnoxious fan, but I think he appreciates the “guy time.” I guess I can understand that. Guys do need their “guy” time and girls need their “girl” time. I never really saw myself as the type of girl who relishes in “girl” time, but when I do have it, I can see the benefits. :)

2. Eddie is really scared when it comes to scary movies or scary stories. He actually had to stop reading scary stories from Reddit because it got to his head.

3. He would never admit this, but I think one of his passions in life is drumming.

4. He LOVED the coupons I gave him for Valentine’s Day. He actually used a couple of them already. I love when gifts are a success!

5. Eddie is very protective when it comes to me. I REALLY love that about him. The other day he was the reason I stayed home from work. I probably would have gone and tried to work while being sick. But, he said, “YOU ARE NOT GOING IN TO WORK TODAY.” I actually admired his firm, controlling tone in this circumstance. :P
