Last weekend, we had the pleasure of visiting our very first Brewery where they make my husband’s FAVORITE beer type, STONE IPA. I am a fan of their beer as well, although I didn’t get to taste any during this visit. 😦 Here’s a look of the inside: (Isn’t it nice?)
They also have a great outdoor patio area which is definitely a must-sit-at next time we go. Haha.
Located at the heart of Escondido, near this beautiful new hospital they are building, is Stone Brewing Co. It’s quite a nice building though there’s no clear, visible sign in front which is slightly bothersome. But, you can’t miss it because there’s not much around.
We didn’t get to go on the tour, but I did learn (via their awesome website) that the Brewery first opened in 1996 in San Marcos, CA. It later opened in the Escondido location in December 2005. The masterminds behind this place are Greg Koch (CEO & Founder) and Steve Wagner (President & Co-Founder). They then opened the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens in November 2006.
Here’s part of their philosophy on their food which I thought was pretty neat: (Taken from their website here.)
“We use in-season, locally, regionally, and organically grown produce. We do this not just for the simple principles of freshness and sustainability, but also because fresh, local and organic tastes better. It’s also better for you and the world in which we live. It shouldn’t be surprising to hear that we also use 100% naturally raised meats.”
Overall, the experience was memorable. Of course, hanging out with friends and enjoying a meal together, made it all the better! Love you guys! Happy Friday! (Have I told you how much I LOVE Fridays?!?) Boo..for parent teacher conferences today. But, hooray for Friday!
